of Snow Farm are well-groomed cross country trails

Methven is just a hour’s drive from Christchurch Airport in
Canterbury. It’s a great place for a perfect wintertime
holiday. There’s a lot to do for a day or two off the
mountain.
Cuddle against the magnificent Southern Alps’ lee, Methven
is the best New Zealand heartland. Visitors are advised to
take every day at their leisure and be refreshed by the

Located in the center of the North Island is Mount Ruapehu

only volcano located on two areas for skiing areas that can
be got at with a single lift pass. These two ski areas are
Turoa on the mountain’s south-west and Whakapapa on the
north-western sides of the mountain. These resorts tout the
lengthiest season, from the middle of June until the middle
of October and sometimes there has been Christmas skiing,
even during the middle of summer.
